Clean the rusty parts away on all areas affected before proceeding to invert the button and screw.

No need to use the spring. Butu keep it just incase you wanna change the screws to plastic ones in the future.

Do not cut the 2 ears sticking out by the cap. If you cut you'll have problems in the future if you decide to change to plastic screws.

So remember if you are DIYing one yourself, better have this inverted or best change the screws to plastic ones.

One more thing is make sure the inverted cap sits firmly covering the hole. There should not be any gap for water to sip through if not the screw thread will still get rusty in time to come
