Long worm in tank!!

Hey yo.. Yesterday while rearranging some rocks, there was a long worm the fell out.. It was damn long!! Arnd 2 inches at least.. Before I could take it out, it hid amongst the other rocks.

Will this worm be of any threat to my tank?

Should be bristle worm. No harm leaving it inside.

2 inches is nothing... i have one that's 2 feet long... no harm leaving yours in the tank, in fact it's advisable, just don't handle it with your bare hands...

ya know wat? as much as it is beneficial (or it might be beneficial) to keep it in the tank, if you just find it disgusting or that the thought of this creature lurking around somewhere in ur tank, just remove the creature if it gives u peace of mind.

actually, once bristle worms get big enough, then as with all creatures on this planet, they start to get bold, and with big appetite.

then they start nipping your corals.

u can do a search on another forum, there was a reefer who saw the bristleworm pull his sps off. so...bristleworm small is good, but once they get big, u better do something

oh ya, another reefer has a worm burrow into his silicon and his tank leaked...so do keep these bugger's population in check. dun completely kill them, but do remove them once in awhile. i am using the coralife trap-em to catch the worms that i can see....it works man

I got cleaner fish n benny tat have part of their body being eaten alive by them as they usually hide inside holes of e LR..So for my new tank i dip my LR in fresh water n forced most of them to crawl out....keke

2 ft is nothing compared to the 7ft monster in oregonreef. if i shall see that worm in person, i will give up reefing straight and stop stepping into the sea.

Yar i know what worm you talking about. When i was just setting up the tank and the rock work was just in place. Everynight the worms will hang down from the rock. damm disgusting. i take tweezer and pull, wah they curl inside the rock cannot pull out. sometimes go piak and they snap.

I remember for some reason the water quality screwed up or something along the course of cycling and suddenly all the worms fall out and die. wah.. very disgusting.

in my opinion CLEAR THEM ALL!
