How to propagate leather coral?

A lot of web pages say, cut a small piece off.

But a piece of what? The polyp head, or the stem? If I cut a chunk of the head off, will it grow a new stem? And it produces lots of mucus, so how do I superglue it to rock?

I don know much abt cutting a leather, but for my case, i just let it propagate naturally. It will just grow in size and a small portion of it will split from its mother colony. That is how mine propagated. But it takes time.

According to an article i came across on garf.org, the smaller the cutting the better it would be as they would be able to better adapt. I've personally cut off a frag of about half and inch off my dying leather in the past, and it worked for me.

Sarcophytons are easy to propagate as they can regenerate amazingly.

I once pulled out this big leather that fused onto the rock and it left a few strands of its tissue on the rock which I thought would degrade away but it amazingly grew back into another specimen

But if you tame me, we shall need each other.

To me, you will be unique in all the world.

To you, I shall be unique in all the world...

You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

ya man BH, i've heard reborn telling me the same thing

for them it was a headache, think they need to get the rock out to sun first and kill the remaining tissues

anyway, its GREAT to have u back. :D:D:D
