Halo guys:

I would like to gather some advise on keeping a Clown Trigger as a pet.

It will occupied a 2.5 feet tank by itself.

What I would like to know is that do I need to worry much about Nitrates, calcium, introducing bacteria ...etc?

Yes, you need bacteria especially during initial stage. Calcium no need. Nitrate need to bring to below 10. You need a good protein skimmer.... blah blah blah

By the way, I read in your old thread that you added some "bacteria" when cyclying your tank.

May I know what particular brand is that? That could help me to introduce my fish faster.

There is no particular brand for bacteria introduction. If you really want to spend money, just visit most lfs and ask for the bacteria that speeds up the cycling process. Else, just do the normal cycling process should suffice. You may want to read up on cycling process in the forum.

As for trigger fish, very hardy with minimal husbandary but watch your finger during feeding. Must separate though from other fishes.

Heard that its hardy. But I would like to provide it the best I could.

For canister filter. What would be the best media to add into them for this case?

Erm, the basics.....bacteria housing media, carbon and rowa....

FYI, Bacteria Housing works better in open air system:- that is not cannister. Any normal media is good enough if your tank is only for 1 trigger. Most important if possible is to have a good skimmer.
