it is a dory (from finding nemo) ;)

the real name is regal tang or more commonly known as the blue tang

it is a vegetarian grazer, eating algae and seaweed

personally at home i feed pellets, energy plus by salifert and omega one

i also feed henry food and mysis shrimp soaked with garlic guard.

basically it is more a pig than a fish eating basically anything, no need to worry about this fish not eating, more worry about the waste they produce !! <_<

at time for a treat i buy red bamboo algae to let it munch on some vege

can use lettuce, those market buy kind, tie with a rock n rubber band n drop into the tank, you also can get nori seaweed (non-seasoned) from places like medical shop or sheng siong supermkt

try a variety of food your fish will be happier for it (imagine eating the same food over n over again, humans also sian) ^_^

:peace:

yep, "Finding Nemo" term... call it Dory, not Dolly (the last time i came across Dolly, its the clone sheep...) a bit of of-topic here....

Its a Regal Tang, commonly called Blue Tang (or BT).

Mine eats anything... its a pig. Eats brine and mysis shrimps, formula 1 and 2 pellets, cyclopeeze, seaweed etc... ya red bamboo is nice too.

This fish eats a lot and shits alot... mine can "high-5" me also and splash me with a tail-ful of water when I adjust the rocks inside the tank...

wah sounds like this tang is so much fun.. will try to play around with it afew more days later when its not shy towards me lol

better be careful with tangs, dont try and hold it. :ooh:

all tangs have a blade of sorts at the start of their tail

you know the yellow or black tang ? they have a white thing at the start of the tail yup thats the blade, it is for self defence

so play is can but do be careful not to startle the fish :erm:

hmmm.. then if i wanan resuffle my LR do i have to shift the fish to another container or its ok?

haha i seemed to have startled you instead, dont worry about the blades so long as you are not trying to be funny the fish will naturally avoid you, so no need to worry about them :)

can shift or do anything ard your tank no need to worry :P
