Thanks! you can try CF (coral farm) nice coraline encrusted rock but going at a premium (slightly less than two red notes per kg) rocks are from overseas like tonga thats why so expensive
SRC Member arcanehacker Posted May 17, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted May 17, 2006 yes.. around $16/kg... its pretty standard for these kind of rocks Quote Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth? SRC Member monpire Posted May 17, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted May 17, 2006 C.F. assure that their L.R. has no hitchhiker, so no problem with pest like crabs and worms.

SRC Member briareos Posted May 18, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted May 18, 2006 I got some very good quality rock from 1 aquarium at pasir ris. Lots of coralline, fancy worms, small crabs, etc. Unfortunately it was quite hard to remove the crabs and macroalgae so a lot of other things died while cycling. If I had prepared beforehand, there would have been incredible diversity in the rock.
chtan23
I got my rocks from CF, with nice coraline algae, no crabs and worms seen so far. But burn big hole in pocket.
SRC Member beaver Posted May 18, 2006 Author SRC Member Share Posted May 18, 2006 Thanks all! May give it a try. I wonder do they offer delivery service for live rocks?
chtan23
Give them a call? They will pack all the rocks in styrofoam boxes for you. Worst case call a taxi? Afterall, taxi fare is nothing compare to the rock cost
SRC Member arcanehacker Posted May 18, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted May 18, 2006 wah thats something new... wonder how they get rid of everything ? and still have coraline algae Yeah.. I was thinking that too.. How can they really proclaim that.. unless they go through all the process of drying the rock for weeks till everything dies , then put it in a rocks only tank and cultivate the coraline.
