leds not used for normal lighting. used as moon light ... more aesthetic than real functional for corals ... allows u to see yr ls in dim setttings as per sea at nite

yavous ... plus they r very low in wattage .. u canleave them on all day if u want....

depends on what u keeping

certain corals will need Mh such as clams but Mh draw back that it is very hot

Bro LED are for viewing pleasure only does'nt do any good for your corals unless you keeping fish only. MH is the best if u want to keep coral but need to have chiller but T5 are more than enough and less heat.

Hrmz, 1 very important thing to consider when you get your lighting, whats the ht of your tank? If it isn't that tall, HO T5s are more than sufficient to keep your corals happy. I've got 2 clams under them too. If im not wrong, a bro here keeps his SPS under T5s only too. Personally i dislike the hear emitted from Mh, switched back to T5s after a week.
