how come my skimmer does not have any skimage?

Erm, did you just install the skimmer? Skimmers normally takes a few days to "break in" and work properly. Don't worry, its normal. As for the microbubbles, maybe you can try adjusting the flowrate abit. Is the skimmer adjustable?

a picture tells a thousand words.......easier if u show us a picture for us to comment. I am using a 3 feet skimmer....that is raise from the sump by 3 feet...need a strong pump to generate enough pressure..foams.I guess before proceeding further,, some more details need to be filled!

from exp, the skimmer had not break in yet as some bros mentioned here and of coz, chercm, do express and indicate as clearly as possible on the status of your items so we can access it for you......

Maybe you want to lower the sump water level (or raise the skimmer up) so that the riser tube is the above water line.

I assume that at least the top 50% of the body is filled with bubbles?

if ur small bubbles reach the red arrow then ur prolly alright, likely not much to skim now... give it a few days then the big dirty bubbles will start pushing up to the top.
