SRC Member ervine Posted May 11, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted May 11, 2006 Hi guys, I got quite a shock when I saw something wriggling in my sump, at first I thought somehow an eel had gotten there but instead it was a bristleworm, and it's about 2ft in length!!!! yes 2 FEET... not to sure what to do with it and I don't quite dare to grab it, just looking at it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand! How?? I can't just leave it there right? Erv.

SRC Member Qxnviolet Posted May 11, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted May 11, 2006 kill it? or put it back into the tank?? Erm, i do not think you would want a 2 Feet Bristleworm in your tank. Its really up to you, but i'll get rid of it if it was in my tank. Quote My Newbie Tank Thread My Blog All pics taken with CanoN!~

SRC Member ervine Posted May 12, 2006 Author SRC Member Share Posted May 12, 2006 Here is the monster... you can see it curls up all the way to the back (can't get a good shot)... How I know it's about 2ft long? Coz it stretched itself across the width of my sump which was 1.5ft long and it still had some of it's tail curled up!! How how? I'm not a fan of killing anything... should I just throw it in my fuge? Will it kill my bristlestar inside?
SRC Member fongster Posted May 12, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted May 12, 2006 wah quite a monster !! since it is in the sump then just leave it, cant do much damage there... i have one about 4-5" but since most of the pple think that they actually do more good than harm, so i decided to leave it, although must admit does look ugly n creepy

SRC Member flying carpet Posted May 13, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted May 13, 2006 Flushing it down the toilet would be a good idea. At least that is what I do whenever I catch mine.
