Hermit crab from Maldive

A token from my friend. He brought along this guy from Maldive.

very cute and agile. To my surprise this guy escape from the tank and found crawling in my hall. This happened a few times already.

Thinking of to cover some escape route for this guy. Hehehe

these are dry type right? Be sure not to give it too much water else they will start to "melt"...

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

Thanks bro, currently had placed it in another tank with sand and it eating been eating slice of prawn plus soaked dry seaweed.

Try feeding it with peanut butter, they love it...brought back a few dozens from maldives before too hehehheh

Should be ok...they are very hardy though and should last for a very long time...

Hi rainbowdarter,

This hermit crab is very, very common on the beach in Maldive :rolleyes: .

I saw it myself when i'm there for 1 week honeymoon since 8~9 years ago.

They tend to come out from the sea to the beach about afternoon time and, not quantity of ten but hundred over. So I think it's not suitable in the marine tank bcos' it'll climb out of your tank everyday and crawl all the way out of the water to the land lei :evil: .

You got hard time to search for it every now and then, so it's good to release it into the sea :lol: !
