bor gerrard_boon: regarding your 4 X T5 lights......

Are they T5-HO (high-output) or T5-NO (normal out-put) ???

If you are using normal output lights, they're NOT sufficient for your crocea. If you are using high-output lights, you might wanna check your water parameters, or monitor the clam from a distance to see if any of ur LS is nipping at the clam's mantle.

I m not a clam expert, but i know i will only buy clams if I have high output lights such as MH. oh ya, check with bor Nakazoru for clams, he's the pro here (at least in my context). :)

Hope ur clam blooms soon! Good luck!

Hi Gerrard, The water perimeter play an important role for the clam

development and they will thrive if the water temp are low. I have

2 crocea and one big maxima with my undetectable No2, No3, Po4 with

water temp at 25-28 degree and ofcause 3x250W mh.

Like other bro said with your setting you can move it up to mid-level

and check your water perimeter to correct it slowly.

Pianz; Pro? I'll be marine biologist if I Pro... ;)

Clam for 2 days? Dun worry so much for now. It takes a while to fully adapt to ur tank.

Your clam must be sensitive to shadow to be healthy. Moving your palm over your lights will cause the clam to close. A reaction to predation. That is a healthy sign and will prosper in due time. Consider u have 4 tube T5 and 1.5ft, should be okay lah.

Clam in danger, gaps, i.e it opening are oval, can see its filter. But with care, it will be back.

Clam that sure die, gaps, mantle fully pinched, and cannot close its shell. shrink over the week.

Good luck.
