white dot

try getting UV steriliser like jebo which u can get from AM

it really works .

my nemo got white spots but after i left it on for 2 days (48hrs) , the spots are gone !

I dun have UV steriliser, so i dunno much to comment. But seems like you have been using ur UV steriliser effectively already. Ur fry the ich parasite over 48 hrs!

Maybe I can ring up AM to check. When I get their answer, then I'll post it here.

In the meantime, dun leave ur UV steriliser on ya? Too much UV causes skin cancer on humans, although I dunno how much effect it will have on fishes, but on a general note, its not advisable to be exposed to UV rays for too long. Cheers and good luck.

Since we are talking about UV... how crucial is this piece of equipment? I know the benefit and blah... does the benefit heavily outweighs the disadvantages (i.e. safety etc)

UV is not an essential piece of equipment in my personnal opinion. Nice to have though. Im sure you know the benefits already and well, i do not really see any disadvantage of having it. If you are careful enough, its not gonna be dangerous at all. Oh, the only disadvantage i forsee is that it might warm/heat up your water a little as the water passes though your UV lamp which in any case of any temperature rise proberbly wouldn't even be noticeable. :)
