Chercm,

I don't have any experience with the Macro, but I am currently testing a big Reef Octopus recirculating needle-wheel skimmer -- DNW 200 6540. Based on this experience I would consider the Reef Octopus over the Macro.

bro tone, juz a question to ask...the Reef Octopus recirculating needle-wheel skimmer.,do u use a stronger or weaker pump to pump the water into the skimmer???i was recommanded by lfs owner to use weaker pump(i use 500l/hr,my needlewheel pump is 1000l/hr) but its not skimming much....

oh i have a 2ftx1ftx1.5ft tank with 2x1x1sump and my lifestock is 1maroonclown,chromis,blackcap,3 small gobies,4 Snails,4Shrimp, n 1 sand dollar...

can anyone help???

based on 6x total volume flowrate per hour....(135L X 6 = 810L/Hr)...considering head loss, maybe you can try using 1000L/hr pump instead......or use an ozonizer (very big difference from my experience)

Here we are Peoples ... the Reef Octopus DNW-200-6540:

ReefOctopus3000.jpg

Just set up and turned on.

After 2 days; it took this long to break-in because I didn't run vinegar solution through it first to clean the acrylic.

The skimmate foam.

I agree that this model seems to work better with lower flow through the feed 600L to 800L/hr (my system is 600L in size) and with the air almost fully opened. It should draw about 500 - 600L/hr of air through the venturi when running properly.

Enjoy!
