Irrespective of the cost per ounce of fries reasons, fast food restaruants love to push up-sizes on fries and drinks on customers because that is where they make the vast majority of their profits. Selling burgers alone is really not that profitable.

I think they make the most out of selling you soft drinks.

I worked in KFC before, the cost of softdrinks is very low.

Cost of large drink cup $0.23

straw $0.02

the actual drink $0.06

anyone notice how much the popcorn chicken price alrady pop to around 3.45 for large? used to be around 2.70 for large. not that it bothers me hehe..

but the thing that gets to me is the way McD fills the fries!! thats the reason of my original post.

they press the packet not to let it open fully so that its as flat as possible, and then scoop the fries in. then they quickly lay it on the tray so that the contents spill out creating the illusion that its overflowing wiht fries.

nex time u are at the counter, pick up the fries packet and give it a good shake.. let the fries settle into the packet. u will what i mean.. actually paying for half a packet of fries and the other half, empty.

aren we all loving it?
