How to protect the tank

Can u guys share how to protect / maintain your tank ?

for instances , to prevent scratches and prevent ugly water mark in tank .

how to get rid of coralline on glass panel without damaging the glass.

i love the concept of magnet cleaner , but it's the last thing i will ever use now because of the scratches . hate it totally when u see the damn scratch especially the viewing panel somemore .

i heard water mark can be avoided by using newspaper to clean . is there a cleaner and more convenient way ?

To remove coralline alage - good old credit card and lots of elbow grease - go inside and scrape with the plastic.

Water mark - use a clean damp cotton cloth - wipe the glass with it. Let ii dry. Note Clean damp cloth and let it dry naturally.

Hrmz, do credit cards work? I have some hard to remove algae on my tank walls. Am afraid to use the metal scrapper that came with my tank cleaner. For the tank outer surface, i use those window/glass cleaning agent and wipe off with newpapers....super clean.

I use a used/expired credit card and stick my hand inside to scrape - comes off clean with just one scrape - this way no worries that the metal will scrape the silicon at the sides. yes it works try it

Hi Hammy I know u bought the Tunze Magnet... remember to always make sure so sand or stones sandwiched between the magnets, especially when u reach near the sand bed. Also do tie the string that comes with it... that way, u can always separate the magnets to check for hard particles.

For cleaning the external glass, I avoid using any form of chemicals. Just water and a nice Japanese glass cloth (bought from Taka). Works for me so far

Not too sure about Credit Card as old cards tend to peel off... although not very visible to the ###### eye. And have u guys bend a card till it folds before? The smell is Very strong chemical smell... like burning plastic. So... be careful... just my 2 cents anyway

can try using a cheap plastic ruler if you don't have an old credit card... that's what I'm using now...
