I'm deciding which return pump to be used Externally for my 2 ft main tank - Aquabee UP 3000i or Ehiem 1262?

Aquabee UP 3000i - 3000l /hr 45W

Ehiem 1262 - 3400 l /hr 65W

One thing I don't like about Ehiem is the high wattage which tends to heat up the water tremendously, though it's a quiet and reliable pump.

Anyone used Aquabee pump externally before? Is it as quiet and reliable compared to the Ehiem?

Thank you.

hi - am using an aquabee to drive my skimmer and a Eheim for the sump return

to tank.

Experience: Aquabee is very quiet while the Eheim seems to vibrate a lot( and it does generate quite some heat ).

It's the vibration on the pipe and sump tank that cause the noise - eventhough you may seat the pump very tightly and put in cotton/sponge to absorb the vibration.

if you do a search on "hum, humming" etc on any of the other forums you will probably find similar reasons.

cheers

Hi bro what's the price like for both pumps :thanks:

Ehiem 1262 is like $255 (normal retail price) and Aquabee 3000i is $184 (normal retail price may or may not less 10%).

Not so sure if c328 or Nature Aquarium got cheaper or not.

Tanga, are you looking for one too?

Thanks Mkt for your info.

Are you using them in water or externally? How long have the pumps being used already?

the different between eheim 1262 and aquabee 3000 is their wattage and also it max head loss. so, depend on the hight of your tank set up and you factor the hight and it loss...

that will determine your choice of your return pump.

aquabee3000, 3000l/hr, 48w, HmaxH 2.4m

eheim 1262, 3400l/hr, 85w, HmaxH 3.6m

Just 1 to find another alternative incase need to change pump in the future but the multi sicce 4000L/hr I'm using now have serve me well.

Wattage same as ehiem 1262, very low heat can put in and out of sump price I think should be around $110 to $120

You mean the Ehiem 1262 is around $110 to $120? New or used one? I thought 1262 new one is much more expensive?
