bro the best is to put your pump for the beckett together with the return pump. cos if as your design. your pump will have problem very fast. as there will be alot of bubbles from your over flow & skimmer. ;) N the beckett need to be above the water level of your sump for it to work.

thats what i can think of now. call me when you got your skimmer than will help you to set up it ok ;):thanks:

hi there bro tntR2,

well drawn design, though i have some suggestions:

1) having your beckett's outflow back into the first compartment of your sump where the beckett's rio20 is, means that the water that was skimmed, will very likely re-enter the skimmer immediatly, whilst some of the water overflowing down from your main tank, will bypass the rio20, to enter the sumps next chamber. the rio 20 in the first compartment is a good idea, but perhaps you might like to have the skimmers return enter directly into the second chamber where the refugium is? that way, all the water entering the skimmer is from your main tank's overflow.

similarly, as bro alexgopostalcode rightly mentioned, your becketts outlet will need to be above the sump's water level to ensure that you dont get any backpressure issues, so do take note of that. if youd like to have the skimmer at ground level, then its best to run in sump.

all the best with your new system.

cheers,

ian
