SRC Member nightdust Posted April 9, 2006 Author SRC Member Share Posted April 9, 2006 As suggested by bro Colin earlier... if u do not intend to spend so much money, then some small pieces of live rocks can also do the job. I reckon 1 pack of Biohome is sufficient for ur 2nd compartment, so $37... ka ching. If budget is a concern, just get normal Activated Carbon for marine aquarium. Since u need to change them quite regularly... ka ching... ka ching... ka ching... I will also invest in a in-tank termometer. Here's what I've been using... cost me $10 by JBJ, bought it from PR. yeah i will get one real soon.. but gotta do things step by step cos budget so the live rocks that ya suggest i put in the 2nd compartment is to replace biohome? then what bout purigen and rowa? i mean i still need em rite.. but i mean buying biohome is definately a better choice than just live rocks rite? Personally I think both LR and Biohome does the same thing... to provide housing for bacterias... but if ur compartment is small, then u will have a lot of wasted space coz it's impossible to find LR that fits like a jigsaw puzzle. But Biohome can fill up the entire compartment without space wastage, so u can end up having more HDB blocks instead of some landed houses. As for Purigen and Rowa, better check with other bros coz I have no experience with the products. jervismun
btw is my tank suitable for tangs/angelfish? i looking to add a small blue tang Sorry no tang and angel for your tank size... lol. U see those tiny BT at LFS... they are extremely hard to keep coz they are still too young... I heard. I bought a small BT too for my 24g, feels quite tight... not much room for it to swim... think properly ok? Not cheap also. SRC Member colinsoon Posted April 9, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted April 9, 2006 not so. yellow clown gobies are not really suited for tanks that have a lot of large fishes, meaning fishes 4-5 times larger then itself. it is unable to fight for food... not to mention they are under constant stress. they are already stressed out in the LFS, from capture all the way to the LFS. it also depends on the fighting spirit of the fella. yes, dun be surprised sum fellas juz refuse to live even though they are in the prime of health... SRC Member nightdust Posted April 9, 2006 Author SRC Member Share Posted April 9, 2006 thats sad man.. i really liked it alot. but yellow gobies dun grow to big.. the largest fish in my tank is only my maroon and its only 2" so sad to find it floating lifelessly after i watched the liverpool match
