SRC Member ong2ah Posted April 8, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted April 8, 2006 Is there a diff between Pincushion Urchin & Cushion urchin... Juz got a purple pincushion urchin from aquamarin.... Done a readout at www.liveaquaria stating that its reefsafe.... anyone can confirm?? Btw a extract from the website state that "It may also prey on some of the sessile invertebrates in the reef system" What does sessile invertebrates refer to ?? Tubeworms fall in that category?? A previous thread a couple of days by bro borinz has reefers state that cushion urchin eat LPS... so i am worried as i got tubeworms, Frogspawn and Bubbles and also starpolyps... SRC Member Qxnviolet Posted April 9, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted April 9, 2006 Hrmz, accordingly to some online dictionary sites, sessile = Permanently attached or fixed; not free-moving: a sessile barnacle. I don't know what will be considered sessile in reef tanks, tubeworms might fall into that category. Frogspawns and bubbles to the coral family and not inverts? Not too sure if the urchin i referring is the same as what bro borinz is referring... i check out in liveaquaria...it did indicate that its reef safe... perhaps my 2 feet tank is too small for it... thats why walk around and "hurt" my corals accidentally...
