HOW TO KILL CRABS & WORMS IN THE LR?

Hi Bro/Sis

Can anybody advise me on the following queries?

1) If I want to kill ALL the Crabs & Worms in the LRs, should I just soak the LRs in Tap Water and by doin so will the Gd Bacteria All Die off?

2) Soak the LRs in Tap Water for How Long b4 all the Crabs & worms will All come out ah?

3) If after tat I put back all the LRs to cycle, any idea if the gd bacteria will grow back after cycling it? If yes, hw long do I nid to cycle the LRs then?

Yes, probably will kill off most organism in LR. With time, the LR will be filled with organism from propagated other LR, IMO better to kill all hairy crabs as they can create havoc in tank

its more important to kill off all the creatures living inside the LR, else you will hve a lot of problems a few months down the road.

good bacteria wil die but if you start off your tank with NSW, bacteria is aplenty in there. bacteria will grow back in the LR in no time. drop a few more bacteria starter pills if you wanna be sure...

side track: for worms only, if you want to rid worms and glithery stuff without killing your LR, you can try the HYpo saltnality method which will help to preserve your LR as well as to rid the stuff During Hypo, u can see your worms crawling out after few hours.

Why would you want to get rid of the crabs & worm?

They are part of your eco system.
