Low PH on newly mixed water

Anybody with idea why my newly mixed sea water has PH 7.7?

It could be because you are using DI. Try aerating the newly mixed sea water to stabalise/raise the PH

not using DI.

I just use a power head to mix the salt with water.

did not aerate the water with air pump.. is this neccessary?

Its not necessary to aerate your water with an air pump, a powerhead is sufficient. What salt are you using by the way?

Tropic Marine Reef Pro.. I think it should have buffered up the water to be within the range of 8.1 - 8.3.. however, still measured at 7.7.. weird..

Yalor... can't be the case coz u using a Pro salt... what pH tester u using? What's the readings vis-a-vis your tank?

using Silifert PH test kit.. my nano tank also reads 7.7.

i have a merck test strips ph

but its of a range from 1-14 (sometink like that)
