jervismun
Hi guys Just need your advice... considering for this tank set... will make purchase tomorrow, so if I can get any negative feedback from you guys... still can change my mind lah. I know size matters but I really enjoy my 24g NC very much and I want to set up another slightly larger version of a nano... partly due to space constraint and will not upgrade my existing equipments, so dun want to end up with a big tank and buy new loads of new equipments. If you guys interested, can take a look at the link below: http://www.aqua-medic.de/seawater/en/7/chromis/ The whole set except the MH light fixture... all black of course in advance!!! jervismun
Was at the LFS and the Percula 90 (3 ft tank) looks too big for my study room. I like the 2ft cube size... just have to bear with it for the next 2 years until I can set up a larger tank in the living room. jervismun
yeah bro..why not go for 3ft?you not going to custom made your tank?> Already checked with a LFS for pricing... my "L" shaped custom design tank with Starphire front glass panel easily costs me 2 months salary... not including all the new equipments I need to upgrade as the total volume will reach 135 US gallons. Weapon_Master
Unless U deliberately wanted a small tank, or have space constraints, I think you should go for 3ft also. Bigger = More Water = No only can house more LS but also a more managable and stable environment ie water parameters etc. Ultimately its your choice
Terryz_
It is the size that I am downgrading to... Quite decent if you have space constraint and not looking at a lot of fishes... 2ft cube is quite a big tank too... Just that the fishes will have lesser space to swim as it is not long... jervismun
So... is this the Tunze ONLY tank u were talking about? I will be looking forward to see the branded tank... Seems like Tunze ONLY is not gonna happen as I will be adding some Aqua Medic stuff too... anyway they're all German... but I really can't afford the AM MH lamp... might need to source for another brand... Agree... 2 ft is quite a manageable/decent size but I don't think my plan to have 7 to 8 Anthias gonna happen with this size Thanks guys!!! You guys really changed my mind... lol (yeah so fickle minded)... Em... whatever la... skip lunch... skip dinner... skip movies... I'm gonna get a 3 ft tank!!! jervismun
But some bro also planning to downgrade... so the views are quite conflicting... of course in the end of the day due to many factors lah! SRC Member jonathen81 Posted March 30, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted March 30, 2006 dear jervismun, if you intend to keeep the new tank in your room...i think you should just consider getting a 2 feet cube. i guess you would be decmoissioning your NC then....your chiller would be adequate for a 2 feet cube but as for your lighting...i think a 250 would be enough but suprisingly you wouldn't be able to place all the clams on the bottom . REMEMEBER that 2 feet in depth requires a lot of penetrance. an remember that the closer you place the MH to the surface of the water the faster its going to heat the water. the 2 feet cube in pretty unique in its dimensions. so try to read up on its upkeeping esp on sites away from singapore. anyway if your room gets cluttered with a big fish tank it would be rather irritating... jon
