coralline algae growth !

hi, I read that most people want to have faster/higher coraline algae growth, but for me, it has just been crazy.

every week I spend 30 mins scrapping my tank glass of coralline algae. I have given up on the rear and left side of the tank as it doesn't block my view..but the front and right, I try to scrape..

(ps. to give you guys an idea: my mum thinks they look like "ling zhi" on rocks !!!)

the tank is 10 months old. only dose kalk once every 3 months.

currently keeping LPS.

can I know if anyone else is facing this "problem" ? and how do you people keep your tank so clean of coraline algae. (I usually used old credit cards to scrap)

Cannot imagine when I upgrade to a larger deeper tank...

I wish I can tell my wife to scrap my coralline algae growth every week, but she's much too smart now... ;)

I am happy enough as it is that she allows me to spend so much time and money on my reef tank! So I guess I can't shove this manual labour task to anyone except.... to those who want free coralline algae!!

Scraping and siphoning the coralline to seed 'barren' tanks works but there's a lot of effort involved.

Its really not that difficult; just direct a jet of water from a powerhead onto the glass exposed to moderate-high amount of lighting, and you'll have dots of pink Coralline within 24hours :)

really??? but do coraline algae grow on relatively new tanks???

...what are u missing from your life?... dun wait till your last breathe before telling them that you care
