ORP stands for Oxidation-Reduction potential

It is a rather hard to explain topic in terms of reefkeeping but in simple terms it is used as a guide to water quality.

You see, a drop in ORP would most likely be significant to a change in water quality and most people use it to keep their water quality in check and constant.

Another usage is that it is used to prevent overdosage of ozone by an ozone generator or linked up to a generator to keep ORP levels constant
