getting my sump redone to include things I like ..

Ideas, thoughts and/ or suggestions ??

the restriction here is it's a 3' with a width of only 1.5' ..

return pump position is fixed since I'm too lazy to move the pipes

BTW Refugium is just an idea I'm toying with .. since I much prefer the DSB..

oops .. sorry .. the flow direction is under the bioring into the quarantine area, over to DSB behind.. then to the skimmer.. then to the return pump back to main tank

Cool design and technical drawing... em I'm no expert in this field but some ppl will keep the refugium last so that any capecod that breed in there will be transported directly into the tank for constant feeding... for Anthias especially... that's my only 2 cents

from conceptual visualisation to actualisation of concept

slightly smaller sandbed area due bubble trap (didn't even know of such things)

just a problem.. forgot all the hoses to and from cooler.. so sump a bit too big for my cabinet..

now volume of sand vs the bucket sand increased by about 15%

waiting for it to stabilise before removing my bucket of sand..

found a great place to collect sand and snails and other stuffs

when tide is out even fish and hadoni.. no one goes there to beachcomb.. just fishing! (yub great fishing spot too) secluded quiet and nice

What grain size do u use for the DSB? I am also thinking of setting up a similiar sump layout, minus the refugium.

dug from somewhere in singapore

I've got seachem denitrate porous 'rocks' as bottom layer.. then the mudlike layer (brown sand) finally the white layer from my sand bucket.. think its #0?? very fine sand
