POWER COMPACT

hey guys

planning to upgrade my lights..or actually put in more lights.

my tank is a 2 footer and i was planning to upgrade from my T8s to T5 24watts. but i am just wondering if its better i try to retrofit a pair of power compacts. so this 55 watt pc bulb which is around 22 inches long.

if i could squeeze in 2, it would be better isn'it it? thatz 110 watts.

but anyway would like to know the availability of power compacts in the LFS here. how is the price compared to a T5s???

i used to use 2 x 55w PL light but i have change to 2 x 24w T5 and my reef tank is doing very well now.

PL tubes are hotter , not easily available and i think it cost much more .

it is better to change to T5 IMO.

yeah...by the looks of it, it looks pretty ex.

the availablility plays a big part eh. wish there were more suppliers of 55watt marine PL. maybe then the price can go down. think they are very good contenders to MH lightings in nanos....

Why not just get a 150w Mh? Maybe those clip on types or something.

this is one of the best choice i must agree .

i was re considering my T5 and MH again . haiz ...

the heat issue must be taken into consideration for this option.

i know MH has its benefits....penetrance..shimmering effect....par...etc..

but what about in a nano??? ure rite hammy, heating is an issue. whatz the point of having a tank hovering at 28 or 29???

on top of that with inidividual lights you can cycle between actinic and daylights...
