Size of marine fishes

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, pardon my ignorance; I'm looking for large marine fishes like grey porma, blue tang, imperator angel and butterflyfish.

How does these fishes consider as large in size? About the half of a grown man palm?

Lastly, any place to recommend?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there! Large fishes? Can u share with us how big is your tank? Can tell us more about ur tank - in terms of water parameteres and equipment used? U ID shows that u just joined SRC yesterday . How long have u cycled your water? (Can i safely assume u are new to this hobby since u dun even know where to get the above mentioned fishes?)

bro k0na_scab mentioned the LFS which u might try. ASk again if u dun know where we're referring to.

Just mentioning abt Large Angel fishes breed, they can grow up to about 15 to 16 inches. And about the Imperator (or Emperor) Angel fishes, the Juvenile stage and Adult stage of the very SAME fish is of a totally different appearance ( I love this fish).

Ur question of "How does these fishes considered as large...?" really have to depend on "How Big is ur tank?". If u have a mega-aquarium, then these fishes will have enough space to swim around happily and not complain abt being too large in ur tank.

On the other hand, if wat u meant by "Large" is referring to something like "wat size is consider Adult Size?" type of question, then the Adult stage of the Imperator Angel fish would have meant that u got the "large" version of the fish. As for Blue tangs / butterflys, i agree with bro k0na_scab - 5 inches should be close to wat i would consider large fish.

Note that Blue tangs can grow up to about 14 inches. 5 inches is still like 1/3 of its max size. although I would have consider 5 inches as large (well, perhaps my tank is small... =p). But at the end of the day.... it still boils down to how large ur tank is.

Just my many many 2 cents.... kekeke

You do mean Pasir Ris Farmway right? If so, well there is the Ah Beng place at Farmway 3 that is mentioned in earlier thread. There is also Iwarna at Farmway 2 and Lot 35 (Farmosa or something - cant remember exact name). Farmway 1 also can be checked out.

Basically there are still many fish farm there. You can go check them out and soon enough you will have your own few favourite place you like.
