Simple steps of setting up micro chiller

Hi all,

I am new over here, just my own guide on simple way to setup a micro-chiller for not more than 30litr tank.

Picture attached as guideline.

All parts can be buy at Sim Lim Tower.

Items requires as below:

1. Heatsink to release heat (Bigger better)

2. Heatsink as cooling probe (Aluminium needed to be anodised)

3. Peltier (Themoelectric part)

4. Themal paste

5. Screws

6. Isolation rubber mat

7. Power supply unit

8. Fan

wat are the voltage needed cos normally commercial chiller not only expensive but also the monthly bill also quite high

It run on 12V power supply.....

what's a peltier? seems like there is a wire attached to it.... what is it for?

is the heat-sink going to touch the salt water? any contamination concern?

as for power consumption, I guess is up to the power adapter used.

bill should be very low.

I tested with only hand feeling, it cooling.....

U must have fix it wrongly or yr peltier ceramic crack..

Use a battery to test yr peltier working anot... It should be 1 side hot & the other side cold...

What i can said is tank volume below 35Ltr should be able to cool it to minimum 25-26oC...

Now i am thinking of what material to use as cooling probe (for marine tank)

1. Aluminium (must anodised)

2. Stainless Steel ( OK anot ?)

3. Tatanium ( Too expensive le)
