Now the problem is whether is there enough swimming space for that big angel?

Never knew PLs come in 40w :)

Looks like LR and circulation will not be a problem- no detritus trap around. Good work on the dsb too.

A peep under the hood will be good - sump picts please.

With 4 X 40w PLs, plus a 2 foot deep tank, looks like corals limited to softies- leathers, mushies, buttons, etc. But can be still gorgeous though. Cheap & good.

However, agree with hotsoup some of your fishies might be in trouble- awfully narrow for the larger fellas. Your water capacity would be slightly more than a two footer, so work out your bio load according these lines. :)

still, nice design though.

cheers

IMO, The landscaping look good for your system, taking into consideration to cater swimming place for your big fished. As Riot had said, need to check bioload

Well...there is still room for improvement. Just slowly build up your reef empire and try to get hold of a protein skimmer first which it’s classified as one most essential piece of marine equipment like wat others will tell u

mmm... might wish to consider investing in a skimmer. Unless you keep your load very very light ie the small fishies only, a skimmer would be handy to remove the crap from the water and reduce the workload for the LRs. How long has your tank been up?

Not forgetting a skimmer helps to keep nuisance algae away or at least

IS that a weipro?

Not too bad for a budget skimmer. never used it before so you gotta take with a bucketful of coral life salt :)

keep your load low, stick to appropriate corals, and you should have no problems. Other than the narrowness, the setup looks pretty good.

If its gonna remain a FOWLR tank, then dissolved nutrient removal is the most important... so regular water changes or using a very good skimmer is important. You have a big angel fish so a lot of feeding is required = loads of waste.

Keep an eye on your water quality... at best... you'll battle nuisance algae for months.... at worse... you'll lose your fishes.

Don't go up on the bioload (even corals) if you can't get a good PS... it's going to be your tank insurance. Get a Schuran or a H&S Euroreef aspirating skimmer... you get what you pay for.
