Anyway, if you want to start such a small tank.. You need to know what you want.. Fish only? Seahorses? External filters you can get small ones like Ehiem 2213 for $80.. Some sand or coral chips, and some sea salt, then a hydrometer.. Lights ermm anyone can recommend?

hi hi,

it's possible to have a stable 2feet tank with just fishes and seahorses but i think it's better to use a 2215 instead of a 2213. 2213 is a bit weak.

lights will depends on what you are keeping.

Hi thanantosis... :)

Seahorses r beautiful but pls...do read up on them first b4 keeping them. They r not usually recommended for the beginner and its diff getting them to eat frozen mysis unless u r willing to have a ready pool of FW shrimps? And dun buy too many (if its ya first time at it!)

Small fishes..gobies, clowns those that r not too boistorous & aggressive.

Ps* Or an invertebrate tank like shrimps, hermit crabs, lobster etc?

If u could...maybe consider a bigger tank? :)

are percula clowns aggressive?

Given most of our tank conditions I doubt they will grow as well as in the wild and prob nvr reach their max. wild size.

But from personal experience, I noticed that my clown seems to have the fastest growth rate as compared to my other fishes (tangs, angels, dotty etc)

Percula clowns r not too aggressive when compared to its other family members (Maroon, tomato etc)...however, they may attack ya resident clown if u have one. :)

so what can recomanm me to keep in my small 1.5 ft marine tank.....

You'll be disappointed in what you can keep in a 1.5ft tank.... be it the species or the numbers.... after awhile, you'll learn more about the hobby, and definetely you'll be tempted to go into more difficult corals and more number of fishies and thats when you'll feel the constraints posed by a 1.5ft...

However, 1.5ft can be done, if you include a large external sump, but then might as well have a larger tank~! :)

Hi TH...

DIff p-ple have diff opinions/ ideas etc...

Some like the nano concept...if u have $$ to spare n only wanna try out...then maybe u can have a nano/ small tank concept. But believe me...once u get hooked on...u sure wanna upgrade ya tank size..cos the ocean has so many interesting stuff to offer....& by upgrading ya tank would prob means wasting $ on ya first set-up (lights, tank etc)...[though some p-ple manageto find buyers/ recycle their stuff]

However, should u decide on a small tank...pls becareful wif wat u r buying...due to the limited size of the tank.

Personally i think that a 2feet tank will be a more reasonable try for a beginner.

Hope this helps! :)
