SRC Member arcanehacker Posted March 24, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted March 24, 2006 What I did was use Henry's food mix for my 2 dispars... So far so good.. They hid immediately once I put them in.. feeding was futile. Then I waited from a far... they slowly swim out.. thats when I feed again.. then I feed again.. .. I have a theory. If your fishes eat a lot.. then tend not to die.. so usually initial few days I will feed a lot. And no fish has yet resisted Henry's food mix... hehe Now my anthias are eating like crazy ... do they ever stop eating? sixline
Talking about cyanide , I read that there is an international body called MAC short for Marine Aquarium Council which handle the proper collection of marine life for exportors, collectors and marine home aquariums. Any imports of fishes which are MAC certified are safe meaning that they are not caught using cyanide or other chemicals which can damage fishes and reefs around the world. I wonder if any of out LFS have such certificate from MAC ? Any comments on this ??

sky107line
Hei bro, I'm running my live stock with up to 32 degree and even with my Tang and butterfly, Well so far it doesn't show any problem for 4/5 months till now. Anyway as back to basic I strongly believed that it also depend on your luck too coz you might not know sometimes the live stock that you purchase from any shop had already having an internal injury and sadly by the time you bought it and tried so hard on the acclimation on them, it's a little bit too late to survive. And for my case, I always believed on those places that allow me to feed them before I buy them and places like this you can find at the Coral farm Factory where they are doing import and export their life stock and they are certified on the ISO 9000. Prices not all are expensive some fishes are even twice cheaper than any other shop. Good Luck bro!!!
SRC Member Underwater Posted March 25, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted March 25, 2006 bro.. give these LFS a break.. you think the distributor will tell them that they caught these fishes with cyanite? of course these LFS know if fishes are caught w using cyanide, just a matter whether they wanna import them in from those distributors. They are in this trade, dun think they're blur...of course the ethical ones will not : )

SRC Member Qxnviolet Posted March 25, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted March 25, 2006 My PQs faded away after 2 months, started dying off 1 by 1. The blue eyes are totally different and super daring, totally agressive during feeding time.
