Too much coralline is a headache once they take up all the calcium and carbonates in your water. Imagine your calcium media in the calcium reactor being used up mainly by coralline. :lol:

Always something more important than fish.

any herbivorus snails will help in the controlling of algae.

another suggestion is that instead of trying to control those algae that are growing, why not control those nutrients that is allowing it to flourish, such as reducing the levels of NO3 and PO4. This way you will not have any more possible outbreaks of algae and they will grow at a slower rate and then even with just one snail(depending on your tank size) algae will not be a problem to you.
