What goos is this Red Algae?

Got this abnormal growth of this sheet of red algae. Dunno what good does it do?

Any suggestion what I should do to it or juz cut it away.

30G Corner Tank with 10G Sump, 2 x 24W artinic T5, 1 x 24W 10K, 1x 24W 20K, 3" Grade 0 sand & Live rocks, Activated Carbon, Bio-home, 2 x Seio M620, Hailea 1/2HP Chiller, Redsea Pro Skimmer

Live Stock:

Turbo Snail x 1, Green Mandarin Dragonet X 2, Blue Tang X 2, True percular x 2, 1 x Algae Bleenie, Clarke clown x 2

1 x 2" Blue maxima, Red/Brown/Purple Mushroom (Discosoma), Pink Ricordea yuma, A little colony Brown/Green common Zoanthus, Red/Pink/Green US Zoanthus, Eagle-eye Zoathus, 14 Branch Goniopora Pandoraensis, 1 Starburst Polyps, 3 + 2 Branch Frogspawn, 4 Blasto, palythoa, Cheato

RIPs (Since June 2005):

1. Sabae clown (KO by Clarke clown) 2. 1 branch melted frogspawn 4 branch 3. Golden maxima (Ripe the base off rock by me) 4. Algae Bleenie x 2 (Starvation) 5. Blue Maxima x 1, 2 x Maxima, 1 x frogspawn, rics (Overtemp...)

I had it before. Very beautiful algae and does'nt harm anything. If you want to keep it then avoid adding herbivorous livestock. My piece got mowed down completely once I introduced a yellow tang. :lol:

Always something more important than fish.

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

Trust me, when I say it is ulgy, it is. It is also blocking the lights of the zoo so it is going to be prune. :huh:

I had that before too. Doesn't do any harm, and its really beautiful. Your algae does'nt look like mine, mine was curly at the sides.

The algae of yours, I also have which is the much small and curly version of the that big piece one. Go my tank thread you will see. That is nice, I know.

This one is a very large sheet of red algae, flat.

algae do well when ph abt 8, good light, ok w a bit NO3 - not too high. freq harvest mke it grow healthy.

i'd it b4, but nuisance when turn 2 big n 2 much... take lot of Oxy @ nite... weak filter cant hv it n ur bacteria die quickly.

tang, angel love to eat them... it'll be eaten quickly.
