Tank Cycling

No difference.. just add enough LRs and maybe some prawns or dead fish to start the cycling process.

maybe a few scoops of water from an existing reef tank would be great too. coz already lots of bacterial that you need.

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

"Its easier to blame the 'mantis' or crabs in the tank for missing & dead livestocks.."

Any specific reason?

Natural salt water may introduce undesirable life forms and polutants into your tank... but if your tank is still cycling, I guess it is ok. Coz filling up a 4' tank will use up a lot of synthetic salt mix (especially if you get the good ones).

If you want to speed up the cycling process and less messy (and smelly), you can try buy/get from some reefers here. A lot of them are selling off their LRs. Check Pasar Malam section. Note: LRs can be quite costly too if buy from LFS especially to fill up your 4' tank.

I am a newbie too, do visit my link below
