Valve to prevent backflow for PVC tubes?

Just checking if there is such thing as a valve to prevent backflow for PVC tubes.. are these common and selling at normal hardware store?

Check valves? I know got those meant for airline tubing. So by right there should be some manufactured for PVC tubes, then again I've never seen one. Maybe I mountain tortoise.

huh?.. bro, what airline tubing? ..

I even more mountain tortise when it comes to such hardware.. I had a hard time explaining to the hardware store guy when I was buying PVC pipings..

got a y valve... it prevent water back flow..

Not sure got what size but i'm using 3/4' .. price not cheap...about 30++

Check valves slow down the water flow rate... Tube is DIY... a bit trouble needs to drill....

Arcane, you should go get the ready made check valve at lavender.The HDB flats there with shops on ground floor selling those PVC pipes and stuff.. Comes in different sizes. Min. of 20++ for one valve if i can still remember properly. One advise though once you connect it to your pipes. Glue it well or else the force of the water when your pump is off will knock it out of place.

Ahh.. swing check valves, those are the ones to get as they minimise head loss.. some valves are spring activated, so it depends on the water pressure to open the valve, which as you can expect will cause headloss...

Thanks everyone.. I got mine for $9+, spring type.. Dun mind the head loss as I always keep flow rate slow... my tank's overflow is pretty noisy when its at max flow rate..and will create a sand storm in the tank too..

Yeah.. the one at reef depot looks pretty good but too bad I realised that after I got mine.

talk about pressure leak.. My first PVC setup was like that.. it leaked real bad at the Control Valve part.. my second set up I used those epoxy glue that can bond in water.. now its solid!... I swear by epoxy glue.. .. expensive and permanent but it worth it..
