hi there everyone,

thanks for all the lovely comments.

bro fuel, i used to dose kalk, but the thing is, seeing as i already run a CR, and maintain alkalinity at around 10dkh, adding kalk often causes localized precipitation, and looking at how dirty my sump tank is now, with the sides having all turned white with ca deposits, ive discontinued kalk. thanks for the tips though. i just regret having tried to cook my rocks for bb, then deciding half way that i didnt want to go bb, cause i think i started the leeching process from the rocks by cooking, but didnt let all the nutrients come out before using the rocks, so now its an issue. the rocks were mostly from my old gonio tank, and they were totally encrusted with coralline then... sigh... hopefully more purple grows in time..:P

bro firestarz, i thought of building a stand too, but im severely constrained by space as the tank is in my room, and not just that, is on my table, besides my hi fi and com, so no space for something larger.

bro hammy, ill try to take a better shot of my black cap soon. its really quite frustrating that i have to contort myself in a weird stance, peering slightly behind the tank to find it daily. but it is slowly venturing further out- a few cms a day i think. so hopefully it will come fully out by next week. its feeding well though, so i hope its just a matter of time before a pic.

cheers all,

ian

hi there firestarz,

thanks bro for your kind comments, but really, its not so nice la- how to compare with all the other gorgeous tanks by other bros man!! :P

for some reason or other, the coralline isnt growing though the sps are, so its worrying me. this hobby is quite stressful man. :P

and for the time and money put in, i often wonder in the back of my mind if its worth it still, but since i still enjoy the hobby, and things are finally settling down with this tank, ill just sit back and enjoy it for a while.

cheers,

ian
