Help ID this algae?

Hope someone can help me identify this cute lil thing.

Sprouted on my rock before...but when it died off after a few weeks I thought it was gone forever...but after a few months....it just sprouted back on the same rock.

Oh yes...it is also unmolested by my yellow tang, lettuce nudibranchs and turbo snails.

Looks like Gracilaria..but tang/snail..etc would have prob eaten them up already

Think it's of the Genus Rhodophytes (Red algae)

Not sure of the species.

Jus wondering what's happened to this red algae of yours? I have some growing too and don't know if it would affect the tank inhabitants somehow?

..........wow..you managed to dig up such an old thread.. Anyway..that red algae died long ago after my yellow tang decided to give it a try. I have reasons to suspect that insufficient iron would cause it to lose its bright red color.
