Does False Percula Clownfish Mate?

Hi all, one question regarding clownfishes, do only the true ones mate and spawn? or do false ones do as well? Because most of the forums only reported true percula clownfishes mating and spawning. I hardly hear that false percula mates and spawns.

Is it that because false percula are much cheaper ($1 - $3 each) compared to true percula ($15 - $25). and when the true mates and spawns, it is "great news" ?

Any comments anyone?

erm..i ain't no expert in such matter but i should think they do mate and spawn...else where do we get the false percula clown??? if they dun spawn then won't they be extinct by now???

i agree with bro avante,

they certainly do mate. just that for the aquaculture industry, it is only commercially viable to breed true percula clowns as they fetch more in terms of price as compared to false perculas.

my pair of false percula spawned few times before. After ther removal of their beloved anemone due to dying, they stop it now.

Too bad I'm not ready for culturing fish larvae.

Don't disturb their "home", and eventually with good feeding and stable environment, they will do that.
