Is Tha*** still the best Roti Prata in Jalan Kayu

Had a craving for good crispy prata this morning and thought of the Jalan Kayu original Tha ***. The last I visited them was at least a year back.

Price for the prata remains affordable with normal @ $0.60 & egg @ $1.30.

However the quality I perceived had dropped drastically. Even the one at my house coffee shop tasted better.

The normal prata was small and not crispy and a little cold.

The egg prata was worst, slightly bigger, egg not evenly distributed and not hot.

The curry dip (normal w/o chicken or mutton) was pretty dilute.

I do not know why the quality had dropped very much probably because of nearby competition or change of ownership. Even the one next to Aquarmarine is better. I expect the quality to be comparable to the one at Suntec convention ground floor kopitiam (which is popular in the morning as the price is rather reasonable)

I like crispy normal prata, squarish thick fluffy egg prata with thick hot curry sauce. Any recommendation near Pasir Ris ?

Yes, I agree the standard had dropped.

I like crispy on the outside and soft inside prata with sugar and egg witn onion prata with thick hot fish curry sauce. "slurp" "slurp"

Sorry if this sound off a bit. But I tried the one at tanjong pagar complex. It's gd. The prata will absorb the curry making it super soft and ...............

Is Jalan Kayu is no longer the prata heaven. Their prata really sucks now. Those selling in food court taste better

The prata and cook food all suck but still many people go there but mostly youngster.

Hrmz, the prata pretty sucks.....but well, its still pretty packed during the wknds....wonder why.
