water topup

I used to do that when I dun have auto top-up device, so what I did is mix 1 tsp of kalk with 1.5l (my total evaporation per day) of fresh de-chorinated water and let it drip overnight.

Now that I have Tubby and kalk reactor, I just let the water pass through the reactor - hassle free.

As for whether it will be a overdose or underdose, it depends on your tank demands. As you add more hard corals the kalk top up may not fully replenish the Ca consume by your stocks thus need further supplementation.

Thus it is prudent to test your Calcium and Alkalinity perodically to ensure that they are at optimum levels and adjust your dosage accordingly.

a lot of people use kalk water directly as the top up water. But, don't add it all at once - still drip it, or use a dosing pump, at night is best.

Real reefs don't have glass bottoms....(...think about it)
