Agent 96
Wa lau www.saltaquarium.about.com/library/weekly/aa042098.htm actually promotes pple to use fish to cycle the tank... Quote A broken heart, A life torn apart. Screams with no sound. No solution to be found. Forsaken by all, Blood spatterd on a wall. Left all alone, Still as a stone. Locked in eternal sleep, No more tears to weep...
Achilles Tang
It's quite pointless to buy a fish to cycle the tank just to introduce ammonia into the cycle and then sell off the fish when you are done with it. Using a decomposing dead prawn or having uncured LR will do the same job with no suffering induced to livestock. We who are in this hobby longer know better... it's HELL trying to remove damsels from tanks. They are smart devils and an extreme pain trying to trap them. I think one of our senior reefers kept a baby blue devil (literally) damsel till it was about 5 or 6 inches big for years because he couldn't get it out. Finally, he speared it and got it out... he was a really happy man to finally get rid of it!
SRC Member williammuk Posted October 3, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted October 3, 2003 Finally, he speared it and got it out... he was a really happy man to finally get rid of it! That's cruel. I would have thought there's at least some affection/compassion for a pet kept that long.
