Hrmz, i would guess its some form of sponge? Maybe bleached ones. I had a hard time clearing them off my LR when i 1st got them....pretty harmless.

when i was clearing out one of the sponges , it have foul smell .

will it spread to the rest ?

Personal experience, I think they are quite harmless.

Only grows in those corners where they are poor flows or alot of decaying... NO3 plentiful...

Shoud be ok if you leave them alone. Adds texture to the LRs.

yup. i got quite a bit of it too, till after i introduced a slug into the tank, which ate up every single 1 of it..

The slug ate up the sponges? What abt your corals? Does it feed on them?
