Can any bro/sis advise what should be the flowrate of PH required to effectively/efficiently drive a skimmer for a 5x2x2.5 marine tank tank capacity is about 600 litres after less DSB and top of tank.

Understand that the venturi-type skimmer is one of the most effective for such capacity, which brand/model and price to recommend that is most value for money ?

One I am aware is probably H&S model 110F2000 (600 litres) and A110F2000 (800litres).

Hi,

There are two different thing here.

1) overall flow rate of the tank

2) the correct skimmer to use for your tank size.

Do not be confuse with this two.

Get a skimmer that can handle the total water vol of your tank.

Then get the pump that is recommended for that skimmer.

The overall flowrate of the whole tank can be 5-10+ times of the

total water vol per hour. This flow most likely will not be handle by

a one source. It can be from,

- numerous powerhead

- skimmer

- main return pump (if you are running a sump)

Thanks bro,

Maybe my question not so clear. Let me try again.

The tank is nett 600litres of water. I am likely going for at least 2 units of 4500l/hr PH from the sump.

So question is for a skimmer to support 600litres of tank capacity, examples of skimmers will be the two I am aware of or any others that can suppot the 600litre capacity.

Question then is : what capacity of pump do I need to get to support the skimmer in order to support the 600litres of tank capacity ?

Many thanks for guidiance.

different skimmers have different requirments

they usually state the required flowrate prominently,

or it comes with the skimmer

like the H&S skimmers you mentioned uses

aquabee pumps that come with it
