I saw the below on the web on using ROWA -

How to use

- DO NOT RINSE ROWAphos BEFORE USE.

- It must be kept damp at all times. It is not effective if it dries out.

Do not rinse? I have been rinsing it many times before and its real filthy - rusty colour water etc. I can't imagine it inside my tank.....

Or does it mean - rinse just before use? Hope its a "England" problem....

Don't have to rinse it, just let it have a slow flow first. after it clear up then adjust to make the top part of the Rowa start jumping around.

well you may rinse it if using FR.. ;)

rowa also admit abit contradicting on the instructions.

If you are using FR, should fill and drain the FR with rowa a few times to clear the dust. No harm right? Just add a bit more rowa to make up the loses :P

I always do that.

haha

theres no need to rinse it through or wash it..

just place it in your FR..

the water may seems pretty cloudy with a brownish tinge at first

but it will go off pretty soon

better rinse it, I got my tank cover with all coco powder for few days before it clear up, but tank water only. the coco powder still on my LR and everwhere until i use a powerhead to blow it. Even the algae grow (before add rowa) also cover with coco. :)

For what I experience with Rowapros is that it going to work only if you use from the beginning of your setting up. If you going to introduce Rowa after few month later then you'll going to take a long time to remove si02 and po4.
