Red button for night light.

White button for fan.

Will tidy up the set up at a later stage.

BTW I hav changed my tank idea. Will b using a 2ft bow front tank which i found (FOC) n making a wooden stand for it. Haha .. I m also thinking of throwing in a Propagation tank

Went DAMA. Bought some stuff.

Fast forward since this isn't a DIY thread.

T4 8W. 1 white, 1 blue.

White is connected to switch.

From right to left : both off, blue on, blue & white on.

B is for BLACK sand. Just a thin layer to cover the base.

Ok, some details.

Top right corner is overflow covered w/ black acrylic & joined w/ plastic hinge.

Top center & left is chaeto box & return pump box. Cooled by a mini fan.

Acrylic is transparent to allow light for the chaeto. Hinge not attached yet.

Front is another acrylic (black) which is part of the hood. Its not done yet but the

lights & moonlight should be attached to the underside of it.

My tank is taking shape.

Update as of 5/2/06 (Sun)

Egg crate added. Wool filter added.

Reflector added. Thermometer added.

Bits of LR added. Avg temp. 28.5 - 29 degs.

The artificial rock is used to cover the return pipe outlet.

Chaeto most likely going in next wk or the wk after.

Top hood still in process of DIY.

Update as of 8/2/06 (Wed)

DIY Hood w/o lights installed.

Another piece of my DIY. Fun to do.

Next will be installing the lights.

Will post update when its done.

(top piece is Black Acrylic. Brown paper not removed yet.)

its black sand ....

can be obtained from fresh water fish shop.

a bit unusual but i like the dark effect it gives my tank.

so far a few commented that its nice.

Hrmz, using sand meant for FW wont have any negative effects on the LS? Thats something new...always thought otherwise...anyway, nice tank...
