I'm currently using 2xOR6500 for return, 1xOR2500 for creating current in the main tank. Intend to add OR3500 & OR3700 for skimmer, 1 x OR3500 for reactors and chiller!

Kindly advise whether am I using too many pump! Btw, hw to determine if the flow rate in my maintain is sufficient? I feel that I may need to get another tunze for my 3ft x 3ft x 2.5ft new tank!

:thanks:

A pump for each equipment sounds reasonable. a pump for each closed loop also sounds reasonable.

But maybe if you want to cut the number or pumps, then you can replace it with wavemakers.

don't have any experience with using so many equipment at one time but i'll just share what i think...if each equipment has it's own pump...in situation something happens...only one equipment is down...the rest will still be fine.

Also certain equipment are better off having dedicated pumps (skimmers) since they perform better with consistent flow. Hope more equipment experienced people can help you :D

Just realised not clear.

What I meant was if you think too many pumps. Can replace the closed loop with wave makers instead.

I find that though I hv 2xOR6500 as return and 1xOR2500 as wavemaker, the current isn't that strong as I expected! I'm still considering adding another tunze to increase the current!

But for my mthly electric bill....
