blue tang got white spots

any bros here can help me??my blue tang got white spots , i would like to know how it got it,how to cure n how to prevent??i got 2 blue tangs in my tank,but only the smaller 1 got. both of them is still eat a lot,just that the small 1 looks tired most of the time....any bros out there can advise??

Most likely it has got ich.

Ich is very common in tangs, and blue tangs seem to be exceptionally susceptible to ich.

You can refer to the section on Disease/Parasite Control of this forum for an idea of how to prevent and treat ich.

If the itch is not too bad and the fish is still feeding happily, i guess maybe u can just leave it in ur tank and it'll recover by itself if your water parameters arent too bad... Itch is pretty common for blue tangs....

Don't forget too .. it could be stress spots .. not necessarily itch ..

stress spots can develop into itch if not watched properly ..

I agree .. UV lights are good

Ran it for a couple of days .. the tank and the fish looked brilliant .. with any spots fin decays all gone ..

Where can i attach an UV light to? Im running a cannister filter....

just attached the UV light to the outflow of the canister. i am doing that for my tank too .
