SRC Member Firestarz Posted January 16, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 16, 2006 Personally i feel that place is alright for the pricing. But i find that the shop owner does not give enough info. It is in that shop that i caught sight of a super pico tank, something like 15 to 20cm in length only, with 2 clown fishes, i decided that i might like to start one like this. After that i went to other shops like reborn n ML, and both told me not to start at that size as the fishes will not last long n it is hard to maintain. I count myself lucky that i didnt buy that marine set as i think i would seriously have regretted my decision as it would b my first tank i would not hav enough knowledge n experiance to successfully keep it. It was only a few days later that i saw someone buying the tank n bringing it home. I hope he is capable of maintaining the tank. I feel that the shop owner should actually provide more information on the maintance area. Sorry if this is a little long. But its just my experiance i had at this particular shop. SRC Member Qxnviolet Posted January 16, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 16, 2006 Hrmz, personally i feel their price is on the high side. But what can we expect when its operating in TM? Imagine the rent. I haven't chatted with any of the shop owners/assistants that much though so cant give any comments abt their knowledge. Theres this BIG shop that sells both fresh n marine fishes (i shant mention the name) that has totally unknowledgeable staff though, or at least the one who served me was. That particular staff didnt even know what hes selling apparantly. Tried to sell me a bi-colour dottyback for $65 (he mistood it for a sunburst) ZzZZzzZ. Cant tell a powder brown from a brown tang. Gosh, i'll never patronise that place again. My Newbie Tank Thread My Blog All pics taken with CanoN!~
SRC Member Maxstar81 Posted January 16, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 16, 2006 My vote goes to INSANE !!! Yah, must understand that their rental isn't cheap but come on ..... S$850 for a nano cube set up !? Talk about bringing the carrot to the chopping board. Thats too much lah.

SRC Member Firestarz Posted January 16, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 16, 2006 They were the Fresh water powerhouse in the past n even now. N their service when they juz started out was great. They should keep a close tap on their workers n ensure that their services remain at a high standard.
SRC Member Elune Posted January 17, 2006 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 17, 2006 Regarding the high rental issue of that shop... It doesn't bother me at all. Having a massive human/shopper traffic there pays off well for its high rental already. I dun see any reason having to turn their high operating cost onto patrons/customers. Besides, I feel even if that shop is located at some "Ulu Sammi" place, if the service is good, staff knowledgeable, and price is competitive, no matter how out-of-the-way, people will still make their way there. Think Lor.Halus; no bus inside there, you either drive in, or you walk/cycle the hell of your way in. still, nothings stops us from going there right? SRC Member shootsimon Posted January 20, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 20, 2006 Different shops cater to different kinds of buyer. Most likely its catering for those who have lots of $$$ and doesn't know how to serve the web type. Maybe they think there are alot of such rich people that goes there and there's a market for it. I'm definetly not one of them but how I wish I could
