if the diatom's growing on the sand, u can manually remove the affected

patch of sand. after that cover the area with new sand.

Erm, you could check with Janet of Aquamarine...they have it in stock quite frequently...i got mine from there.

Diatoms a little too tiny & probably too difficult to scrape off and eat. Its like eating scattered sugar with chopsticks!

SLF crabs are more macroalgae eaters - people get them to eat hair algae. They will also scavenge uneaten food.

They eat coralline algae once other algae is finished. Good for saving you $ for calcium media for your calcium reactor or for your calcium additives.

Yes they do eat small fishes that hide in the rockscape during the night when the alage run low and they grow too big.

They only 'behave' when their size is small.

Mine is at 3inch already after molting twice in 2 mths. Sad to say I lose a damsel and cleaner shrimp to it. The bugger eat alot and guess it was looking for midnite snacks. It actually hide behind the rocks and when I put some meat in there, u can see it scurry for the food and uses it claws to lock onto it.

I have a real hard time getting it out and banish it into the refuge tank.
