I just bought a piece of zoo today.

around 20 mins, all the polyps closed.so far, it remains closed.

the last time i tried 1 zoo, it closes and becomes mouldy like and i tink it died.

how how?

im running on 55W PL blue light. the zoo is placed on the sandbed. my tank is 1.5ft height with dsb of around 3-4inch.

my anemone all doing ok...

and i tot zoo is supposed to be one of the easiest coral to keep? :(:(:(

usually I dip my zoos in the fresh water before introduce into the main tank. Reason, to get rid of the possible usual pest - nudibranch <_< Dip it in the fresh water for abt 3 min, it would take a while or sometimes a few days before they open up when place back in the tank B)

I have the same problem recently. In the past my zoos were healthy till they died due to calcium overdose.

I recently bought 2 more zoos after my tank restablized but after a few days they stopped opening, and there seems to be a layer of film on the zoos. No nubibranch was spotted and the zoos seemed to be breaking apart. All my other corals, including 2 clams are doing fine except for the zoos. Anyone knows what is wrong? Thanks.

try iodine dip using lugol's solution, i managed to save 1 frag of zoos

using this method. this is wat i did

1) put abt 2-3 drop of iodine into 1L of FW.

2) bath the zoos (not dip) for abt 5mins

3) take out zoos, FW dip a few time to shake away any stuff sticking to it

4) if the mould/decompose patch is big, drip 1 drop of idoine onto the

affected area. This is not to save that patch, likely that patch of zoos

will die. This is to stop the infection from spreading to the surrounding

polyps.

Also, I had tried Reef Plus Coral Conditioner on 1 of the affected frag.

The frag too managed to recover :P

hope this will save ur zoos :P
